Gloriously Loving by the Harbour
The September wedding of Marie and Keith, celebrating 22 years of love and friendship.
I was so thrilled to perform this marriage of two old and dear friends in the beautiful garden of their harbourside home with loving family, some of whom travelled from USA to join them.
What was meant to be a low key affair in the Registry Office became a loving ceremony of celebration. Their grandchildren lead in the bride and groom and then formed a guard of honour as they walked towards me. Their 8 grandchildren each read three lines from the ‘Art of Marriage’ and Keith and Marie wrote their own wedding vows.
The water taxi then whisked them to a special celebration party of Keith’s 70th birthday on the Glass Island boat – it was a surprise to the guests that they had just married!
So much love and joy celebrating two wonderful occasions as we travelled around Sydney Harbour.

Well, how lucky were we that we were able to get Glen-Marie to officiate at our nuptials !
We had originally planned just a simple civil ceremony at the Registry Office, and had made the necessary booking, etc. We did not feel entirely happy with the idea, but had made that decision, when fortuitously just a week or two beforehand, we heard that Glen-Marie, whom we had known for many years, had been appointed a Celebrant.
It did not take us long to contact her, find out that she was free that day, and planned the venue change to our apartment at Elizabeth Bay.
Glen-Marie came over immediately, and over the next week supplied us with all the information, choices for the readings, commitments, and vows, and incorporated it all into an easy-to-follow Order of Service.
She also incorporated our five daughters and eight grand-children in the ceremony, and transformed what would otherwise have been a somewhat bland and souless event into one that we will always remember with great affection. Thankyou.
