The success of your wedding ceremony starts with the choice of the right celebrant. The first step is getting to know me. I welcome you to come in for an obligation-free chat about your special day. You can check me out to see if I’m the right celebrant for you. If you decide to book me then the excitement begins!
Wedding Questionnaire
This is all about helping me to get to know you and make our catch ups as efficient as possible. Fill this out prior to our meeting or we can complete it together.
My main objective is to discover what is most important to you, then turn that into an expressive, memorable ceremony - one that reflects your union and your lifestyle.
I want this process to be fun and relaxed!
Paperwork
Let's get the legals out of the way. Importantly, inside the Kit is a “Notice of Intended Marriage” (don’t complete the back page 4 until we meet).
This Notice must be lodged with me one month before the wedding date, however soonest is preferable.
We'll go through the various legal information I require at our next meeting, for example, I need to view your ID and proof of date and birth. If you’ve been previously married, there are some additional documents I will need to view.
Creating the Ceremony
Once all of your thoughts, wishes and ideas have been discussed, I then supply a first draft which we will use as a starting point for your ceremony.
For legally binding ceremonies, there will be a portion of the wording that is required by law to solemnize the marriage.
I’m happy to keep making modifications along the way. We should aim to complete the final draft two weeks before the wedding.
Let’s make this a happy relaxed experience so that your ceremony reflects your personalities, ideals, beliefs and cultural values. Getting it right down to the last tiny detail is every bit as important to me as it is to you.
Payments
We will discuss my fees when we have our initial consultation and these will be based on your location and any additional requirements you might have. Once we agree to work together (exciting!), there will be a deposit of $300. The balance will be paid prior to the ceremony.
Rehearsal
The rehearsal is an integral part of the process. I highly recommend a rehearsal at the venue as it also provides the opportunity for choreography and for the bridal party and family to bond and feel relaxed before the big day. It is also great for us to go over the paperwork for the ceremony so you are familiar with it.
If your photographer or video team can be there, I will be able to brief them. If not, I meet with them at least one hour before your ceremony.
I will bring my own microphone and PA system if required. If there is a wedding planner or onsite A/V team, the rehearsal is a great time to work with them to ensure everything is ready to go. Otherwise this will happen on the day. Of course, we will do a final check just before we kick off.
On the day
It's finally here! Now it’s YOUR day. We are organised so there will be no surprises, however I’m never fazed by the unexpected. I will keep you calm and centered as you make your vows.
The most important aspect of the day is that you and your wedding party are ready to enjoy this most memorable occasion. And it will be !
Following the ceremony I’ll forward all legal documentation to Births, Deaths and Marriages within fourteen days of the wedding.
Congratulations! You're married!
