Vow Renewal Ceremonies

Congratulations! You've decided to do something truly wonderful. To renew your commitment to each other in front of your loved ones is a beautiful gesture. You are taking this opportunity to acknowledge the love, friendship and devotion that you have shared throughout your married life.

While I won't be legally marrying you again, there are wonderful ways we can create a memorable and enjoyable ceremony that everyone will enjoy. The best news of all is that you can take all the fun parts of a wedding and do whatever you like!

Together we will develop a ceremony that reflects your journey as a married couple and your hopes and dreams for the future.

I like to refer to vow renewals as Reaffirmation Ceremonies as it brings to mind the feeling of what this day is all about.

I can't wait to celebrate with you!

As you like it

The ceremony can be traditional, quirky, romantic, elegant, formal, casual, funky, unusual or in costume. We can include cultural customs and rituals or you can even start your own. If you can dream it up, we can work it out. The choice is unlimited!

It can be an intimate gathering or a grand affair (and everything in between). You can hold it in the park, at the beach, on a boat, in a vineyard or your own backyard.

You may even wish to have a rose ceremony or a sand ceremony, maybe a Ring Warming Ceremony or a Hand-Fasting, involve family members, or special friends. It's all about having fun!

Good to Know

I can offer tips and experience to ensure your big day not only runs smoothly but also involves your family and guests.

I can work with you on writing your own vows and offer suggestions for music, rituals, and readings that you may wish to include in your ceremony.

Having mentored and coached in personal image, media and speech presentation, I can help you and your party with tips on public speaking, presentation and how to make the most of your photography on the day.

The Process: What to Expect

The success of your reaffirmation ceremony starts with the choice of the right celebrant. The first step is getting to know me. I welcome you to come in for an obligation-free chat about your special day. You can check me out to see if I’m the right celebrant for you. If you decide to book me then the excitement begins!

Ceremony KIT

As soon as you have completed the booking form and submitted the deposit, I will send you my Ceremony Kit. This is designed to help you navigate this exciting journey and is filled with ideas, vows, readings, poems and rituals which we can discuss at our next meeting.

Reaffirmation QUESTIONNAIRE

This is all about helping me to get to know you and make our catch ups as efficient as possible. Fill this out prior to our meeting or we can complete it together.

My main objective is to discover what is most important to you, then turn that into an expressive, memorable ceremony - one that reflects your union and your lifestyle.

I want this process to be fun and relaxed!

CREATING THE CEREMONY

Once all of your thoughts, wishes and ideas have been discussed, I then supply a first draft which we will use as a starting point for your ceremony.

I’m happy to keep making modifications along the way. We should aim to complete the final draft two weeks before the event.

Let’s make this a happy relaxed experience so that your ceremony reflects your personalities, ideals, beliefs and cultural values. Getting it right down to the last tiny detail is every bit as important to me as it is to you.

PAYMENTS

We will discuss my fees when we have our initial consultation and these will be based on your location and any additional requirements you might have. Once we agree to work together (exciting!), there will be a deposit to be paid. The balance will be paid prior to the ceremony.

REHEARSAL

The rehearsal is an integral part of the process. I highly recommend a rehearsal at the venue as it also provides the opportunity for choreography and you to feel relaxed before the big day.

If your photographer or video team can be there, I will be able to brief them. If not, I meet with them at least one hour before your ceremony.

I will bring my own microphone and PA system if required. If there is an event planner or onsite A/V team, the rehearsal is a great time to work with them to ensure everything is ready to go. Otherwise this will happen on the day. Of course, we will do a final check just before we kick off.

ON THE DAY

It's finally here! Now it’s YOUR day. We are organised so there will be no surprises, however I’m never fazed by the unexpected. I will keep you calm and centered as you make your vows.

The most important aspect of the day is that you and your party are ready to enjoy this most memorable occasion. And it will be!

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'RE (STILL) MARRIED!
